Sinking

The Shimano XV-285Q Exsence Salvage Solid 85ES Sinking Lure is a saltwater minnow/shore plug for casting through bait lanes, surf edges, rock wash, and current seams.

The job is to present a controlled baitfish profile that can be worked at speed or slowed down around likely ambush points.

Start with a steady retrieve to learn its track, then add twitches, pauses, or speed changes when fish follow without eating.

Floating models are safer over shallow cover; sinking models let you count down into deeper lanes and current.

It is strongest when predators are feeding on baitfish in the upper to middle water column.

It is not a bottom lure, so if fish are pinned deep, switch to a metal jig or soft plastic that reaches them.

TARGET SPECIES: sea bass, flatfish, trevally, queenfish, bluefish, snapper, and shore predators hunting baitfish.
